Peter Parker (Tom Holland) is Spider-Man, trying to impress mentor Tony Stark (Robert Downey Jr.) with his superhero skills, hoping to join the Avengers. However, saving the day comes second to high school life, with the 15-year-old science genius palling around with friend Ned (a charming Jacob Batalon), while crushing out on senior Liz (Laura Harrier). Trying to be on his best behavior for Aunt May (Marisa Tomei), Peter works to perfect his superhero training, protecting his New York City neighborhood from crime, but big trouble arrives in the form of Adrian Toomes (Michael Keaton), a disgruntled blue collar worker seeking revenge on a society that won’t let him get ahead. Using alien tech recovered from the Chitauri invasion, Toomes becomes The Vulture, a flying villain capable of pulling off extraordinary heists, building a fortune through black market arms dealing. Eager to earn his stripes, Peter, suited up in Stark tech, struggles to become the hero he desperately wants to be, dealing with inexperience and adolescence as he tries to foil The Vulture’s latest plans.

Menghapus plot kematian paman Ben serta asal-usul Spider-Man (yeah, gigitan laba-laba itu) , alkisah remaja Peter Parker dipercayai miliuner, Tony Starks (Robert Downey, Jr) untuk berlatih di bawah pengawasannya sebagai pahlawan super di tengah hiruk pikuknya kota New York (alur awalnya mengambil lini masa dari Captain America : Civil War). Bosan dengan sesi pelatihannya yang tak jelas dan merasa terabaikan, Peter lalu menemukan kasus penjualan senjata ilegal oleh geng kriminal yang dipimpin oleh Adrian Toomes (Michael Keaton) mantan pengumpul barang-barang bekas sisa-sisa aksi heroik para Avengers di NYC silam. Bersemangat ingin menunjukkan eksistensinya di mata Tony, Peter lalu malah masuk dalam masalah serius yang menguji sisi kepahlawannnya yang masih seumur jagung.
